Horace Shelby Austin, 77. Shelby entered into rest April 23, 2003.
Survivors include his wife Kathryn of 56 years, three daughters Susan, Shelley and Stephanie, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Shelby was born in Alabama, July 5, 1925. At the age of five his family moved to Arizona where he received all of his education and became a graduate of ASU. Shelby also served as an Air Force Recruit in WWII.
After serving his country he spent the next 20 years as a District Manager for Investors Diversified Financial Services. Finally, Shelby decided to become a Real Estate Broker where for the last 28 years owned and operated Shelby Austin Realty and Investments.
Shelby's passions included his involvement with the East McDowell Civic Association where he served as President for several years, as well as his generous service as a member and overseer of governmental affairs of the Native American Indian Memorial Organization.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, with service at 11 AM, Monday, April 28, 2003, Pinnacle Presbyterian Church, 25150 N. Pima Rd., Scottsdale.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery.
