Death of Mrs. Mary Alvord.
After an illness of several weeks, Mrs. Mary Alvord died on Saturday evening last. She was the oldest daughter of the late Russell Austin and in 1837 was married to Mr. Browning Alvord, who with the late Hon. Charles Colt was for some years in the transportation of produce and goods on the Genesee River between this place and Rochester. Mr. Alvord died December 14, 1838, only about two years after marriage. Mrs. Alvord united with the Presbyterian Church here about fifty years ago and has been a faithful and earnest christian, and was endeared to her family and a large circle of friends.
