Dorothy Cecilia Averill, 86, passed away November 13, 2002 at Douglas County Hospital.
Dorothy was born July 20, 1916 at Ackley, Iowa to Thomas and Catherine (Bangasser) Silver. On July 31, 1938 Dorothy married Mort Averill. They made their home on Mort's farmstead south of Tracy, Minnesota. In 1963 they moved to alexandria where Mort was employed by Bellanca Aircraft Corp. She enjoyed her sewing, handwork, church activities, and quiet simple pleasures of life and nature.
Dorothy is dearly loved and will be missed by her five children including two sets of twins: Duwayne, Donald and Ronald of Alexandria; Jane (Jack) Rodeschin of Midford, NJ, and Judy Roth of Alexandria; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister: Theresa Hansen of Tracy; brother: Thomas Silver of Tracy; six sisters-in-law: Maefern Christianson of Peoria, AZ; Beverly (Kermit) Knutson of Siren, WI; Bernetta Holm of Tracy; Florence McHugh of West Bend, WI; Nora Silver of Tracy; and Leota Silver of Tracy.
A memorial Mass celebration of life was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on November 16, 2002. Entombment was at St. Mary's Mausoleum Cemetery in Alexandria.
