Portland, July 18- Mrs. Fanny B. Ainsworth, widow of the late Captain John C. Ainsworth, died last night at her home in this city, aged 71.

Mrs. Ainsworth has been for many years prominent in social circles of Portland and California. Her late husband, Captain John C. Ainsworth, was a pioneer steamboat master of the Columbia river, who amassed a large fortune. He was one of the organizers of the Oregon Steam Navigation company.

Captain Ainsworth founded the Central National of Oakland, Cal., acting as its president until his death.

Mrs. Ainsworth is survived by five children, one of whom is H.B. Ainsworth, president of the Los Angeles and Redondo Railway Company. Interment will take place at Oakland. *Source-The Berkeley Gazette, 18 Jul 1905, Tue · Page 6
