Albert Wesley Babcock, as son of Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Babcock, was born at New Centerville, Wis., May 31, 1876, and passed away from this life Aug. 5, 1931, at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Ella McCartney, River Falls, Wis., at the age of 55 years, 2 months and 5 days.

Mr. Babcock grew to manhood in New Centerville, the home of his birth and was known throughout the community, having spent all of his days in the Village and vicinity with exceptions of a brief sojourn in Beaver Creek, Minn.

Dec. 11, 1902, he was united in marriage to Miss Rosetta May Hudson, and with whom he was privileged to spend nearly twenty-nine years in wedlock.

To this union nine children were born, one of whom, in infancy, a little daughter, preceded him in death. Those surviving, other than the wife, Rosetta May Babcock, are as follows: Mildred, St. Paul, Minn., Wesley, Beaver Creek, Minn., Marion and Margaret, Portland, Oregon; Elmer, Leonard, Estella and Louise, New Centerville. Other surviving relatives consist in that of an aged father, Simeon Babcock, who has passed his 88th mile stone; three sisters and two brothers; namely: Mrs. Minnie Kay, Mrs. Estella Phillips, Mrs. Mary Waldberg; John and Henry Babcock, having also been preceded in death by his mother, three brothers and one sister.
He was a kind and loving husband, a good father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Death finds the weak, the strong, the brave,
And plucks the shoot and reaps the grain;
It fails the thins we mostly crave,
And pays its debts in doubts of pain.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 8, 1931, from the home in New Centerville, Wis., at 1:30 p.m. and from the Methodist church at 2 o'clock, Rev. G. C. Wadding officiating. Interment was made in Mount Olive (sic) cemetery.
