She was born Madelia Babcock, the daughter of Porter H. Babcock and Sarah Peebles Babcock.

On December 23, 1874 as Delia E. Babcock, she married J.B. Albrook at Delaware County, Iowa.

Mrs. Delia B. Albrook, widow of the Rev. J.B. Albrook, DD, was born in Cortland County, New York on the 11th day of May, 1851 and died in Pasadena, California October 28, 1932. In early youth she was left an orphan and removing to Monticello, Iowa she grew up in the home of her grandparents. Of studious mind and earnest heart she acquired a good education and early uniting with the church, she became an exemplary member, both in Sunday School and in her profession as a public school teacher, gave a good account of Christian services.
A bright, clear thinking, vigorous mind, an earnest, vigorous, cheery personality, it was a happy event indeed when she became the wife of J.B. Albrook and took over the duties of mothering his little daughter and the fine talk of a minister's helpmate. When, a little later, Dr. Albrook became the head of Epworth Seminary, Mrs. Albrook fitted perfectly into position of preceptress of the school and as a busy and efficient teacher. She was a model teacher and dormitory mother of the school.
After long service in the distinguished office of pastor, educator, financial secretary, District Superintendent, Dr. Albrook claimed his retirement and they came to Pasadena, California, where they lived in beautiful helpfulness till Dr. Albrook's death. They became a vital center of the little Epworth group that was scattered over Southern California and after his death, an inner circle of those who had been with them in old Seminary days, gathered every eleventh of May, Mrs. Albrook's birthday, to celebrate and felicitate her good life among us.
