Fern L. Anderson, 77, of Salem. SD, died Tuesday, Sept 24, 2002, in Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Fern Bach was born at Colman, SD, on Apr 21, 1925, to Kristen and Murthe Jokumsen Bach. Her parents; a brother: Elmo; and a grandson: James, preceded her in death. She graduated from Egan High School, and attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls. She married John Anderson in Sioux Falls on Jan 18, 1957. They lived and farmed in the Salem-Montrose, SD, area until moving into Salem several years ago. Survivors include: her husband John of Salem; 3 sons:Ted (Karla) Anderson of Montrose, SD, Richard (Judy) Anderson of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Roger (Melodee) Anderson of Grand Island, NE; 4 daughters: Lorraine (Charles) Judstra of Sioux Fall, Christine (Gerald) VanEmmerik of Red Lake Falls, MN, Mariann (Charles) Oyen of Salem, Sharon (John) Perez of Sacramento, CA; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jens Bach of Thief River Falls, MN, Walter Bach of Flandreau, SD; 3 sisters: Rose Peterson of Granada Hills, CA, Evelyn Savellano of Los Angeles, CA, and Violet Kramer of Flandreau, SD. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm, Fri, Sept 27, 2002, in Ramsey Baptist Church, rural Montrose SD. Burial will be in the Ramsey Baptist Church Cemetery, Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Thurs, Sept 26, 2002, with a prayer service at 7:30 pmin Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem, SD. Arrangements were with the Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem, SD.
