Mr. Alfred "Dount" Bacon, 86, departed this life Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the Bryan Health Rehabilitation Center Nursing Home in Richmond Hill. Alfred was born April 18, 1927 in McIntosh. He was the son of the late Henry Bacon and Patsy Johnson Bacon. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, John Bacon and Herman Bacon; three sisters, Eula Bee Hendry, Georgia Mae Daniel and Hannah Bell Bacon; and one special niece, Matilda Robertson.He loved to read the Bible, play the guitar and sing. He was a loving and caring person. Mr. Bacon also was a very humble person who lived a simple life. He leaves to cherish his memories a special caretaker, Louis Hendry, who was one of his nephews, and a host of others nieces and nephews.Viewing will be from 1-5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Dorchester Funeral Home.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Highway in Midway. Interment will be in St. James Church Cemetery in the Holmestown Community of Midway.
