Carolyn A. Baer, age 83 of Garrett, died on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 12:20 p.m. at her residence. She was born on September 10, 1927 in Fort Wayne to George A. and Mabel B. (Egolf) Scott. She married James M. Baer on July 11, 1947 and he died on August 4, 2004. She worked the switchboard at Magnavox for 9 years and then was a vault teller at Fort Wayne National Bank for 9 years before retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Garrett United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star in Waynedale and Fort Wayne Legion Auxiliary Post 82.
She is survived by 3 sons; Ronald J. Baer of Garrett, Kevin M. Baer of Williamsport, PA and Jan B. Baer of Garrett; a brother, Richard J. Scott of Waynedale; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack A. Scott.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, with Dr. Randy McQueen officiating. Burial will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fort Wayne. There will be no calling.
