Loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend passed away the evening of November 18, 2004.
She was born October 9, 1927 in Mapleton, Utah to Irene LaVada Brindley and Warren Dalton Peterson. She was adopted and raised by Voyle and Emma Bagley. She adored her father Voyle. She spent her childhood in Greenwich and the surrounding mountains helping her father herd sheep and cooking for the ranch hands. Later they moved to Aurora. She had four brothers and five sisters.
Rayona married Ned Casto in 1945 in Salina. They had three children, Colleen, Marlane, and Kent. Later they divorced. She married Charles A. Cooke June 12, 1970 and welcomed his children Al, Nan Rae, Teresa, Robert, Gayle, and Jean Marie (now deceased) into their family. Rayona was blessed with 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Rayona was loving, caring, and totally unselfish. She never spoke unkindly. She was an excellent cook and a superb gardener. No one left her home without fresh produce, flowers or food. She was an awesome mother and wife! Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive Monday, November 22, at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held Monday from 1-1:45 p.m.
