Mimi Bagley, 77, passed away July 16, 2007, in Northridge, CA. Mimi was born Carolyn Doreen Packman, a native Catalinanian (a rarity even among Californians) on November 12, 1929, to "Whitey" Packman and Edythe Stone. Her grandparents ran the Catalina Bathhouse, Whitey was the diver on the glass-bottom boat, the youngest ship's captain ever licensed in California, and a former USC football star. Edythe attended school in the basement of the Catalina Casino, and, after graduation, worked at the St. Catherine's Hotel for the exclusive Hollywood Yachting crowd. Mimi attended high school in Huntington Beach, was on the swimming team, water ballet team, and the beach all summer. She studied music at Orange Coast College, San Diego State College and UCLA. But her life-long commitment was to ice-skating. She spent years on school figures and formal competition and became a professional in 1949 touring with the Sonja Henie Ice Show. She married Don Bagley on August 29, 1951. He was working with the Stan Kenton Orchestra, and Mimi traveled with Don and the band throughout the US and Europe. They did later tours with other bands and artists including both Frank and Nancy Sinatra, Burt Bacharach, Edye and Steve, Johnny Matthis, Julie London, Henry Mancini AND MANY OTHERS. Daughter Tiffani was born April 1, 1953. Grandchildren, Jordan, Jasmin, Cellestine and Chanel; great grandchildren Jordan and Tiffani. Memorial Services were held in Northridge, California, on Saturday, July 21, 2007. Graveside Services will be held in Salt Lake City at Wasatch Lawn, Monday, July 23, 2007, at 1:00 p.m.
