Charles was born Charles William BAILEY
in Jan 1862 in West Townsend, MA son of Aaron B Bailey (1833-1902) and Sylvia W
Johnson-Hitchcock (1835-1866) Additional note: Sylvia was also adopted as a baby
by the Hitchcock family but her birth name is Johnson. Charles was the youngest
of three children and the second son. His mother, Sylvia, died when Charles was
about three and a half. He was adopted by Jesse and Anne Marie (Girdlestone)
Cook and therefore took on the surname / last name COOK.
