MANCHESTER -- Hazel W. Bailey, 88, died April 5, 2009, at a local health care facility, after a period of failing health.
She was born in Manchester on Sept. 24, 1920, to Charles and Winifred (Ashley) Marshall.
She attended local schools and resided in Manchester most of her life.
In her early years, she was employed at local shoe manufacturing companies. Until her retirement, she worked at Laibel Manufacturing Co. for several years.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
She was married for 30 years to James O. Bailey, who died Sept. 16, 1974.
Family includes son Richard C. Pettengill of Weare; brother Richard Marshall of Portsmouth; sisters Joan Sanders of West Columbia, S.C.; several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hour is Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union St., corner of Concord Street, Manchester. The funeral service is Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
