Barbara J. Colbert, 63 of Marshfield died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at House of The Dove under the care of Ministry Home Hospice.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Barbara was born in Chippewa Falls to Bradford and Blythe (Bair) Colbert on November 24, 1948. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School and obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Barb was a 1st grade teacher for 39 years at Washington Elementary in Marshfield, retiring on May 14, 2008.
She is survived by one brother, B. James (Kay) Colbert of Chippewa Falls, step mother Clairce Colbert of Chippewa Falls; two nephews, T.J. (Krista) Despins of Rochester, MN, and their children Nathan and Sydney, Bradford J. (Cynthia) Colbert III of Plymouth, MN and their children, Ella and Addison; two nieces Dee Dee (Peter) Korth of Cottage Grove, WI. and Penny (Joel) Jurss of Pewaukee and their children Bryce and Kaitlyn. She is further survived by her brother-in-law Tom Despins of DePere and her two cats "Ginger and Snickers" whom she dearly loved.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Bette Despins on April 29, 2012.
