Atchafala Baker Snyder, 82, widow of Charles Snyder, died early Wednesday morning at Woodlawn Nursing Home.

Mrs. Snyder, a resident of Halteman Villas, 4501 N. Wheeling Ave., was born in Parker City, graduated from Parker City High School, and attended Indiana University in Bloomington.

At one time she and her sister, Mildred Russell, were associated with their father, W.E. Baker, in the ownership and management of W.E. Baker Furniture Company, with stores in Parker City, Winchester, and Muncie.

Mrs. Snyder was a member and former deaconess of First United Presbyterian Church and a member of Business and Professional Women, Altrusa Club, and Bachelors Club. She was also a life member and former member of the board of the Salvation Army.

Her husband, Charles E. Snyder, longtime building contractor here, died April 19, 1980.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Mrs. Monroe (Mary) Barber, Muncie; her brother-in-law, Lawrence J. Snyder, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a niece, Mrs. Richard (Diane) Silcox, Indianapolis; a nephew, Joseph Barber, Indianapolis; and two uncles, Charles Beery, Richwood, Ohio, and Ira Beery, California.

Services will be at Meeks Mortuary at 10 a.m. Friday with Dr. Laurence Martin, pastor of First United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
Friends may call at the mortuary 3-6 p.m. today or prior to services Friday.
