Dorothy Louise Arlanson YARMOUTH Dorothy Louise (Baker) Arlanson, 92, died September 5, 2009 at home. She was born in Washington, D.C. and spent her early years in Norwood and Weymouth. Dorothy earned her Liberal Arts degree at Boston University. In 1940 she married Harry Arlanson. She lived briefly in Norfolk, VA during World War II while her husband served as an officer in the Navy. Dorothy and her husband raised their family first in Weymouth and then in Winchester. After spending many happy summers on the Cape they were able to make Dennis their permanent home in 1972. Dorothy was a dedicated volunteer at Cape Cod Hospital for 18 years and was an active member of the Dennis Union Church. She was devoted to her family and will be remembered as a loving, spirited lady. Her grandchildren, her Boston Terriers and the Red Sox always brought a smile. Her husband of 58 years passed away in 1998. She leaves son, Carl B. Arlanson, Esq. and wife Phyllis of Hanover; daughters, Carol and husband Bob Michel of Dennis and Susan Wilson of Dennis; brothers Philip, Harold and Richard Nash; grandchildren Scott R. Michel, Cheryl Russo, Suzanne Ten Hagen, Karen Brandt and Taryn M. Wilson. She has five great- grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Dennis Union Church, Rt. 6A, Dennis at 11:00 a.m. on October 3, 2009. Interment will be private. Donations may be made to the Dennis Union Church or the charity of your choice.
