Brenda L. (Whitcomb) Baker, 57

Muncie - Brenda L. (Whitcomb) Baker, 57, gained her wings on April 25, 2017, surrounded by those who loved her.

She was born February 8, 1960, the daughter of R. Luke Whitcomb and Sharon L. (Cariens) Spicer.

Brenda was an amazing mother, daughter, and friend; to know her was to love her. She was a beautiful person on the inside and out and the love she had for her family was as beautiful as she was.

Love and orneriness shined through her beautiful blue eyes and captivated your soul. Her zest for life would leave you speechless.

She was bluntly spoken, knew everything, and didn't mind letting you know it.

Brenda's strength was a miracle in itself; there was never an obstacle placed in front of her that she did not face with grace and faith.

She was our biggest blessing and she always reminded everyone in her life that they were a blessing as well.

Brenda is survived and will be greatly missed by her three daughters, Leslie McWhirt, Amanda (Brandon) Hicks, and Jama (Alfred) Pitts; grandchildren, Brittany Middleton, Peyton Norris, Brian "BJ" (Heather) Blevins, Austin Blevins, Alexis Blevins, Steven Blevins, Jordan Blevins, Zariah Blevins, Whitney Blevins, Andrew Pitts, Nakiya Pitts, and Alfred Pitts, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Brandilyn Dunham, Braelyn Blevins, and Jayden Blevins; parents; step-mother, Donna; step-brother, Kurt.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Heekin Park, Cabin #5, 1800 South Grant Street, Muncie, Indiana 47302.

This will be a reunion style celebration to celebrate the love she had for her family and life.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prevention of Child Abuse, 3833 North Meridian Street, Suite 101, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, Violence/Battered Women's Shelter, 806 West Jackson Jackson Street, Muncie, Indiana 47305, or the MS Foundation, 3500 DePauw Boulevard, Suite 1040, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268.
