Anna Blanche was born in Douglas, AZ to Bush Wrod and Stella Anna Cairns Baker. When she was an infant her parents move to El Paso, TX, where she received her early education. She completed High School in Clifton, AZ after the family moved there. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Phelps Dodge Mercantile for 16 years. From 1938 until her 1979 retirement. She served as secretary for the Clifton School's superintendent, serving under five different officials and devoting her life to her career.
She was much loved by the Baker family who hosted a big birthday party for her every year. She was a substitute grandmother for all her nieces and nephews.
