Daughter of Charles Nelson Crittenton and Josephine Slosson. She was their only child to survive past the age of 5. The Florence Crittenton Maternity Homes were founded by her father Charles in memory of her little sister, Florence.

Married Ralph Howard Baldwin, an Episcopal minister, 5 Mar 1886 at St. Nicholas', Liverpool, Lancashire, England. They were divorced two weeks before her death in 1903. She had discovered he was bigamously married to two other women.

Ralph was born 10 Sep 1861 in Princeton, IL, and died 20 Dec 1942 in Alameda Co., CA.
