He is survived by the widow Mrs. Nellie Virginia Curtis Baldwin. A son Dwight V. Baldwin. A daughter Mrs. Hollis Hardy and grand daughters Barbara and Rhoda Baldwin.

Mr. Baldwin was the son of David Dwight and Lois Gregory Morris Baldwin, was born in Lahaina, Maui, December 9, 1859.

He was descended from Joseph Baldwin of Cholesburg county, bucks England, a pioneer settler around Milford Connecticut in 1639.

His paternal grandfather was the Reverend Dwight Baldwin MD, one of the early missionaries to the islands.

Mr. Baldwin received his early education at Punahou school and Williston seminary, Easthampton Mass.

He was a non graduate from Yale Sheffield school in 1889 and returned to the islands to work a government survey on Hawai'i.

He retired from government service to establish the Baldwin & Alexander, Honolulu civil engineers and surveyors in 1907. His hobby was the study of volcanic action and Hawai'ian land shells.
