Odell
Last week, Louis Baldwin, well known throughout this country, received word of the serious illness of his wife, who with her mother, was wintering in California. Before he could start another telegram informed him of her death. He met the remains in Portland. Mrs. Baldwin, before her marriage, was Miss Koontz, granddaughter of Peter Ruefner, a pioneer of Mill Creek. Her funeral was held from the Hood River Immanuel Church Monday afternoon. The death of so young a wife and mother appeals powerfully to our sympathy.
