Betty was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, Illinois, during World War II. She married Deane H. Ball in May of 1946. The family moved from Rock Island to Phoenix, Arizona in 1964. After Deane’s death in 1979, she worked at the Hallmark store on Bell Road and 7th Avenue, where she enjoyed making new friends with the customers.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Gary (Brenda) Ball of Pocatello, Idaho and Larry (Rhonda) Ball of North Ogden, Utah, eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Deane; brothers, Earl Gilbert and Lloyd Gilbert; and a granddaughter, Jenna Mae Bell.
Graveside services will be held at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Betty’s name to the Monte Vista Hills Healthcare Center, 1071 Renee Ave, Pocatello, ID 83201.
