Oct 20, 2016 Dripping Springs TX; loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, & aunt; proud and superior homemaker, avid gardener (especially herbs & native plants including cotton), nature, sunset & avian enthusiast, self taught in natural medicine, dedicated American, GOP member; devoted to Christ and his teachings, her husband, children & her feisty Senegal parrot Chico.
Preceded in death by husband Eldon Keith Ball, parents Kermit Roberts, Bessie (Jones) Roberts Orr, & sisters Barbara Grace Roberts, & Nancy Louise (Roberts) Davis. Survived by her children Pamela Ball (Woodinville, WA), Timothy Ball (spouse Diana, children Alisha, Brinna, Cerina of New Melle, MO), Thomas Ball (spouse Priscilla, children Sarah, Travis of Southlake, TX), & Penne Funk (spouse Frederick Hugh, children Christian, Spencer of Dripping Springs, TX), her sisters’ Ruth Holloway (Summer Shade KY), & Gary Nell Hinton (New Albany, IN) & their families, & Nancy’s daughter Julie (Davis) Raymond (Louisville, KY) & her family.
She was an example of knowledge that can be acquired from life experiences, voracious reading & listening to educational radio content (never having touched a computer) spurred by natural curiosity & fascination with the sciences & precious gems. Grounded in her Kentucky roots & self-reliance from her youth, with her mother & siblings she overcame early familial tragedies, was true to herself, laughed easily, loved deeply, beat everyone at dominos, cherished the security of a practical daily routine, & exemplified humility & dignity.
