Obituary for Marilyn Baker
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mom, Marilyn Kay (Ball) Baker.
She died unexpectedly on November 21, 2016, while surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family.
Marilyn was born on October 2, 1941, in Williston, North Dakota.
As a very small child, Marilyn, her mom, her sister and oldest brother took a train from North Dakota to California after her dad found work there and they settled in Venice, California. Marilyn graduated from Venice High School in 1959, and then attended Santa Monica City College.
In 1959, while attending the Mount Olive Lutheran Church Youth Group, Marilyn met the love of her life--Robert "Bob" Baker. Bob and Marilyn married in December 1961, in Santa Monica, California. Shortly thereafter they settled down in Granada Hills, California where they raised their 3 children. In 1982, the family moved to Camarillo, California, for work and eventually opened their own successful printing/graphic design business.
If asked, Marilyn would say her greatest achievement and passion in life was her family.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, "Kirk" and Theola Ball, her brothers, Richard and Michael Ball and her brother-in-law, Tom Bell. She leaves behind her husband Bob, her sister Charlotte Bell, sister-in-law Lisa Ball, her children and their spouses, Cheryl (Stephen Sr) Wade, Karen Baker, and Brian (Kelly) Baker. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen Wade Jr., Briann (Matias) Massuci, Brianna (Nicholas) Hyatt, and Brandon Baker, as well as two great-grandchildren, Madison Hyatt and Parker Massuci.
Marilyn's services will be held at the Conejo Mountain Funeral Home located at 2052 Howard Rd., Camarillo, CA. 93012.
The Viewing will be in the main building on Tuesday November 29th between 5 and 8 PM. The Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 30th begins at 2 PM in the small front Chapel, followed by a graveside burial and gathering to celebrate her life in the main office immediately following.
