Bill was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Ville Platte Medical Center for 25 years and was voted the favorite Employee of the Year, he was also a devoted Catholic. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sallie R. Baquet of Ville Platte; three sons, Robert Baquet and wife, Stephanie of Ville Platte, Eric Baquet and fiance' Sarah of Abbeville, and Kevin Baquet of Ville Platte; one daughter, Jennifer Baquet Fontenot and husband, Cody of Pine Prairie; three brothers, Bennett Baquet of Ville Platte, Jack Baquet of Ville Platte, and Jerry Baquet of Lafayette; and eight grandchildren, Mona Fontenot, Christen Fontenot, Julie Fontenot, Katlyn Fontenot, Connor Baquet, Summer Baquet, Annemarie Fontenot, and Isaac Fontenot.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George, Sr. and Marjorie Baquet and one brother, George Baquet.
