Francis Hyde Barbarin Jr. was born in New York City to Sara and F. Hyde Barbarin Sr. His parents moved to Hastings when he was five years old and he lived there until eight years prior to his death.

He married the former Beatrice Hessey in 1931 in The LIttle Church Around the Corner in New York City.

Mr. Barbarin was a former division manager of Keebler Co., of Mount Vernon. More recently he was a regional sales representative for the company.
