Courtney A. Barbarin-Moore

BARBARIN-MOORE Courtney A. Barbarin-Moore was born on June 9, 1967 in New Orleans, LA to Alfred L. Barbarin, Sr. and Gloria E. Barbarin.

She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church No. 2, by Rev. Dr. Sam J. Johnson.

She received her formal education in the Orleans Parish School System, where she graduated with honors from Alfred Lawless Senior High School in 1985 and Undergraduate from the University of New Orleans with a B.S. in Business Administration and a Minor in English in 1993.

Courtney was joined in marriage to Thomas L. Moore III and this union produced two beautiful loving children, Kyla Ann Moore and the late Nyla Ann Moore.

Sis. Barbarin-Moore was a Paralegal and a Notary Public. She was the Director of the Youth Greeters, counselor of the Youth Dept., a member of the Sheperd's Helpers, a supporter of the Culinary Ministry and she served on the Finance Committee of her beloved church.

She departed this life on Saturday morning, April 14, 2012 in New Orleans, LA at the age of 44.

Courtney leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Thomas Lee Moore III, daughter, Kyla Ann Moore, parents, Alfred, Sr. and Gloria E. Barbarin, godfather, Barry Bechet, aunts and uncles, Yvonne and Joseph Bechet, Elvina, Louis (Marion) Reddick, godchildren, Alfred L. Barbarin III and Dashawn Webster, siblings, Gwendolyn H. Trinity, Alfred L. Barbarin, Jr., Paula J. Harvey, sisters and brothers-in law, Denise, Synetta, Cynthia and Vanest Moore, Edna M. Harvey, Trichonda Barbarin, Ernest Trinity and Glen Andrews, nephews and nieces, Willie E. Harvey, Ceion and Robert Stacker, and Amanda Trinity, her devoted best friend, Alicia LaFrance-Franklin along with a host of cousins, other relatives and close friends.

She joins her daughter Nyla Ann Moore and brother Willie E. Harvey, Jr. in Glory.

Family and friends, pastor, officers and members of Corinthian M.B.C. # 2, Steeg Law Firm LLC, First American Title Ins. Company, Enterprise, Because Wee Care Learning Academy, and Auto Zone are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church # 2, 2601 Jackson Ave. for 10:00 am.

Interment is in St. Louis # 3 Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 8:00 am.
