Janet A. Andersen, age 65, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 8, 2017, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
Janet was born January 29, 1952, in Council Bluffs, to the late Edmund (1986) and Martha (Gabrielson) Barbeau (2007).
She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1970, and earned her nursing degree from IWCC. Janet married Patrick Andersen on August 15, 1970. They were blessed with three children, Tracy, Amy and Patrick, Jr.
Janet was a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in the OB Department for 20 years, retiring in 2006.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Barbeau in 1965; and her brother, Eddie Barbeau in 1971.
Janet is survived by her husband of 47 years, Pat Andersen; daughters, Tracy (Greg) Albertus, Amy Andersen Powell, all of Council Bluffs; son, Patrick “PJ” Andersen, Jr., of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Kyrstin, Joi, Tori, Gabe, Jake, and Riley; nieces and nephews.
Private family services and burial were held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Belle Terre Reception Hall and Vineyard, 23375 Barrus Rd., Glenwood, Iowa. The family will direct memorial contributions.
