Albert M. Barbosa, age 63, of Fall River, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 20, 2016, following an extended illness. He was the husband of Ana M. (Borges) Barbosa. Born in the village of Nordeste, on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, he was the son of the late Francisco Medeiros Barbosa and the late Maria Estrella (Medeiros) Barbosa.
A resident of Fall River for most his life, he was a union carpenter, most recently employed by Hardy Exteriors of Fall River. Albert was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. In addition to his wife, Ana, he leaves a son, Michael Barbosa (wife-Christine) of Fall River, four brothers; Carlos Barbosa (wife-Bev), of Fall River, Mario Barbosa (wife-Jean) of Swansea, Viriato Barbosa (wife Dawn) of Fall River, and John Barbosa of Swansea, a sister, Mary Jo Raposo (husband Joe) of Fall River, two grandchildren, Michael and Kayla Barbosa of Fall River, his mother-in-law Adelaide Borges of Fall River, three brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews including Kayla and Justin Borges.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, March 23rd, in Holy Rosary Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
