Deceased Name: Elaine Wood Auger Loved gardening and played a mean game of horseshoes
PITTSFIELD - Elaine J. (Barker) Wood Auger, 77, a longtime Pittsfield resident, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, in Zephyrhills, Fla., where she had lived since 2001.
The daughter of Howard and Mabel (Giddis) Barker, Mrs. Auger was born in Concord on Jan. 7, 1930. Raised by Delbert and Hila Snow in East Sutton, she was a 1948 graduate of Simmons Free High School in Warner. Immediately after high school on July 25, she married Lamson Wood. Together they spent many years in Londonderry raising their four children. They then moved to Pittsfield in 1975.
A homemaker, Mrs. Auger also worked as an electronics technician for Raytheon for 25 years, retiring in 1995.

While she lived in Zephyrhills, she enjoyed trips to the local park, where she loved to feed the ducks and listen to local musicians. She also enjoyed the companionship of many wonderful and helpful neighbors and friends.
She leaves her husband, Paul Auger of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Pittsfield, whom she married in 2004. Other family members include daughters Deborah Lacourse of Belmont and Sharon Cole of Pittsfield; son and daughter-in-law Lannie and Linda Wood of Pittsfield; son Robert Wood, also of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Alva Plummer of Buffalo, N.Y.; sisters Phyllis Palmer of Weare, June Bond of Concord and Beverly of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Auger was predeceased by her first husband, Lamson "Lannie" Wood, in 1995; and by siblings Glenda Barker in 1951, Lee Barker on Oct. 5, 1990, and Enid Barker in November of the same year.
