Sarah Jane Barksdale, daughter of
William and Mary Barksdale was born
at Reedsville Kansas in Center
Township, Marshall County Kansas on
September 28, 1874 and departed this
life at Blue Rapids, Kansas on
Wednesday morning, December 17,
1941 at the age of 67 years, 2
months and 19 days.
Although she had been in failing
health for several years, her condition
did not seem serious until a few days
before her death.
On January 26, 1892 she was married to
Charles T. Anderson of Frankfort,
Kansas,and she has spent most of her
life in and around these communities
with the exception of seven years
spent in Marengo, Iowa.
To this union was born four children,
Louis Edward, who preceded her in
death, William C. Anderson, Erie,
Kansas, Julius D. Anderson, Frankfort,
Kansas, and one daughter,Mrs. Dorothy
Clair, Blue Rapids, Kansas; eight
grandchildren, and other relatives
and friends.
In 1921 she became a member of the
Methodist Church of Frankfort, Kansas.
Although her interest varied, her first
thought was her children and
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday
afternoon with Reverend Wright M.
Horton, of Frankfort, Kansas in the
home at Blue Rapids, Kansas, then a
service in Methodist Church.
Pallbearers were Charles Hicks, Clyde
McMillian, Dean Coxley, George
Feldhausen Harry Feldhausen, and Justin
Harper.
Interment was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
