Funeral services for Avis K. Barksdale, age 15, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Winona, were held July 20, 2003 at Ed Roberts Chapel of Remembrance with Rev. Sid Small Jr. officiating. Burial was held at Forrest Hill Cemetery with Roberts & Sons Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.
Master Barksdale died on July 12,2003 at Saint Luke Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Survivors include his brothers, Devonae Alexander, Derrion Alexander and Leon Fields, all of Chicago, IL; sister, Clarissa Fields of Chicago, IL; maternal grandmother, Clara Alexander of Chicago, IL; and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Alexander of Winona.
