Funeral service held for Mrs. B.J. Barnett
Funeral services were held for Mrs. B.J. Barnett, 72, from the Walnut Grove, Miss., Methodist Church last Wednesday. Mrs. Barnett died at her home, 907 N. 31st St. following a long illness. Mrs. Barnett had been a teacher of music for many years thru-out Mississippi and in Colorado Springs for two years. She was a member of the Galloway Memorial Methodist Church, Jackson, Miss., former secretary and treasurer for the Women's Bible Class; a member of the Music Teachers Association and the official Mississippi Club. Mrs. Barnett is survived by one daughter; Mrs. James H. Roberts, 907 N. 31st St., Colorado Springs and one granddaughter, Layde Linda Wilbourn of the same address. Pall bearers were Billy Ellis, Pat Munday, Hudson Henderson, Roy Henderson, Judge O.H. Barnett and Joe Barnett. Officiating ministers were: Rev. L.E. Norton, pastor of the Walnut Grove Methodist Church and Rev. L.M. Sharp of Forrest, Miss. Interment was in the Barnett Family Cemetery, Carthage, Miss.
