Doris Barnett was daughter of Mattie Freeny Scott and William Roy Scott, granddaughter of Luther and Lelia Peoples Freeny and James Andrew and Josephene Collier Scott. She was the tax assessor in Leake county for three terms, and was in office at the time of her death.
