Mrs. Doris Oathout, 76, of Seymour, IN, passed away 9:56 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Lutheran Comunity Home in Seymour.
Doris was born in Monticello, KY on December 15, 1933, the daughter of Melvin Estel and Pauline I. (Gholson) Barnett.
On November 10, 1949, in Brownstown, she married Robert Oathout, who preceded her in death January 12, 1998.
She was retired from Seymour Manufacturing after 29 years of service. She was also employed for 5 years at Rose Acres.
Doris is survived by her children, Carol (Roland Freeman) Schepman, Allen Dale Oathout; grandchildren, Sherida (Steve) Newmister, Jonathan (Carrie) Schepman, Brent (Becky) Schepman; great grandchildren, Logan Barrett, Jonathan L. Schepman, Whitney Schepman, Spencer Newmister, Samantha Newmister, Madaline Schepman, Claire Schepman; step great grandchildren, Lincoln Shoemaker and Rusty Mace; brothers, Harlan Barnett, Morris Barnett, Kenny Barnett, Merle F. Barnett and two very special friends Sue Brockett and Linda McNeely
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral Services will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday at 6:00 PM with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg and Rev. Darrel Geitz officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until time of service at Voss Chapel.
Rev. Darrel Geitz will conduct a graveside service Thursday 10:00 a.m. at the Acme Cemetery.
