OBITUARY

Friday, September 12, 1980

Ben F. BARNETT, 79, Akron, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Hospital where he had been admitted earlier.

He was born Aug. 21, 1901 in Indianapolis to John and Bessie WELLS BARNETT and married Thelma WAECHTER in 1927. She survives. He was retired from the Indiana State Board of Health and was a member of the Akron Masonic Lodge, the South Bend Scottish Rite, the Mizpah Temple of Fort Wayne, the Fulton County Conservation Club and the Purdue Ag Club.

Surviving with the wife are a son, Max [BARNETT], of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. John (Anita) McMILLAN, Cincinnati, and Mrs. Gene (Polly) BURR, Warsaw; ten grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and two brothers, Robert [BARNETT], Danville, Ind., and Richard [BARNETT], Santa Barbara, Calif.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Haupert Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Donald MAUGHAN officiating. The Rev. Frank CRAMER will assist. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery. Masonic services will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
