Elizabeth Jane Baker, 79, of Calhoun City, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at Calhoun Health Services Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She was born July 6, 1930 in Calhoun County, the daughter of George Noel and Archie Mae Rodgers Barnett. She was a retired seamstress for Kellwood Corp. and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She attained her GED at age 59.
Funeral service was Sunday at 2 pm at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City. Burial was in Elzey Cemetery in Vardaman. Pallbearers were Robert Earl Barnett, Bryan McCluskey, Lynn Allen Rodgers, Danny Ray Rodgers, William Lee Rodgers and Glenn Cox.
Survivors include two sons, George B. (Christine) Clements, Calhoun City; James Robert Clements, Vardaman; one brother, Robert Earl Barnett; one granddaughter, Ann (Marty) Criddle; three grandsons, Tracy Earl Clements; John (Kim) Clements and Joshua Jay Clements, all of Calhoun City; three great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Heather and Nicholas (Savannah) Criddle; a special nephew and niece, Robert Barnett and Dianne Barnett Lishman.
