Vivian Allerding, Age 92 of, Hastings, MI passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022, at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, MI.

Vivian was born in Woodland, MI, on December 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Hubert & Fannie Mae (Woodman) Barnum.

She was raised in the Woodland area, and she attended local schools graduating from Woodland High School. Shortly after completing her education, she was married to Mr. Richard Allerding. Vivian & Richard made their home in the Hastings area, where they raised their family. Vivian took great pride in caring for her family, and enjoyed spending time in her kitchen baking, cooking, and tending to the needs of her family.

She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Woodland for several years, and also Grace Lutheran Church in Hastings.

Vivian is survived by her children Tracy (Eric) Gale of Kentwood, Steve (Sue) Allerding of Ionia, 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Abbie (Ken) Whorley, Timothy (Julie) Allerding and Danielle, and 7 great grandchildren, Sophie, Isabella, Brayden, Xavier, Rhys, Liza and Simon. She was preceded in death by her parents Hubert (Fannie Mae) Barnum, her beloved husband of 63 years Richard, sister Phyllis Baitinger, brother-in-law Vernon Baitinger, and grandchildren Tiffany & Timothy Allerding.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 239 East North Street, Hastings, MI. with pastor Kenneth Scheck II officiating.

The family will receive visitors, 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, beginning at 10am at Grace Lutheran Church.

Immediately following the funeral service, friends and family are invited to remain at church for a time of fellowship and luncheon.

Interment will take place following the funeral luncheon at Woodland Memorial Park in Woodland MI.
