Mrs. Ada H. Barnum, 87, widow of Charles E. Barnum, of West Hartford and Winsted, died Monday at the Dawson Convalescent Home, West Hartford after a long illness. She was born at Philadelphia, Penn. November 29, 1866. She leaves two sons, Edward J. Carter of Milltown, NJ and Ernest H. Carter of West Hartford; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph W. Brown, West Hartford; 2 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Burial will be in the Forest View Cemetery, Winsted. (as reported in the Hartford Courant, Hartford, Conn., January 5, 1954)
