Rev. Fr. Barr Dies ; Rites in Mt. Angel
Salem, Sept. 3 - ??- Rev. Father Benedict Barr, O.S.B. 51, member of the Mount Angel college faculty for 25 years dies in a Portland hospital last night.
He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Barr, residents of Salem since 1885. He was ordained in 1903 and for three years had been serving as chaplain at the convent at Mount Angel. He was a director in both the seminary and college.
Funeral services will be held from the Abbey chapel in Mount Angel Saturday morning.
