Amos “Speedy” Charles Barrow, age 73 of Pineland, Texas passed away Saturday night in the Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Texas.

He was born in Dequincy, Louisiana to Melton and Mayola Elizabeth Streams Barrow.

Speedy retired as a truck driver for Temple inland and has lived in Sabine County for most of his life.

Amos is survived by his wife Elease of 49 years, his sons, George Jacks of Pineland, Texas, Benny Jacks and his wife Hazel of Pineland, Texas, his daughters, Billie Barrow Simpson and her husband Mark of Hemphill, Texas, Marcell Jacks of Pineland, Texas, his brothers, Vernon Barrow and his wife Bobbie of Brookeland, Texas, Jerry Barrow and his wife Frances of Jasper, Texas, Johnny Edward Barrow and his wife Linda of Kirbyville, Texas, Daniel Barrow of Beaumont, Texas and Melton Barrow of Brookeland, Texas, his sisters, Judy Davis of Brookeland,Texas, Sharon Mallett and her husband O.W. of Jasper, Texas, Mary Rogers and her husband Andy of Jasper, Texas and Mollie Carroll and her husband Clark of Jasper, Texas, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5pm-9pm Monday, December 29, 2014 in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 11am Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Jacks Cemetery, Pineland, Texas.
