Edward J. Barry
Requiem mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral for Edward James Barry, 1205 SW Cadinell Dr., who died Thursday while on a business trip to New York.
A transportation expert, Mr. Barry was born March 12, 1902 in Yonkers, N.Y. and had lived in Portland since 1910.
He was a graduate Christian Brothers Business College and from 1938 to 1963 was general manager of the Pacific Inland Tariff Bureau. At the time of his death he was in charge of national accounts for Los Angeles Motor Express.
He is survived by the widow, Amy; a brother, Thomas of Van Nuys, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Eileen Buckley, and two stepsons, Harry and Tony Joy, all of Portland.
Recitation of the Rosary will be Sunday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Hennessey, Goetsch and McGee. Vault interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The family suggests any remembrances be in the form of contributions to the Heart Fund.
