Shirley M. Albone, 87 passed away on April 12, 2017 at Medina Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born October 4, 1929 in Lyndonville, she was the daughter of the Late Floyd and Minnie Smith Barry. She lived in Lyndonville all her life and on August 6, 1948 married Gerald “Manny” Albone.

Shirley worked at the Lyndonville Canning Factory for 26 years and at one time for Meland’s Furniture in Lyndonville. She retired from Fisher Price in 1992 after 20 years. She attended United Presbyterian Church where she was very active in the Yates Baptist Church.

Shirley was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, a member of a quilting club, was on a bowling league and a member of Busy Buddies. She enjoyed coffee with many “coffee girls”. She enjoyed cottage days on Lake Ontario and enjoyed thunderstorms on her porch. She loved nature walks, movies, reading and gardening.

Shirley is survived by children: Bradley (Cheryl) Albone of Medina, Jeri Jurinich of Albion, John (Elvira) Albone of Lyndonville. Nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one brother Bernard (Jane) Barry of Lyndonville. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald “Manny” Albone in 2003.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18 at the Yates Baptist Church, 11365 E. Yates Center Road, Lyndonville, New York 14098 with Rev. Lyell Drake officiating. A luncheon will follow.

Memorials may be made in Shirley’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
