Excerpts from unknown newspaper, probably the Overton Press:

"Graveside rites were held for George Barrymore at 4 p.m. Thursday with the Reverend R. A. Russell officiating. Arrangements were by the Pearson funeral home. A native of Pecos, he had lived in Overton for thirty-five years. Not much was known about his past and no one knew definitely just how old he was."

George may have moved to Laird Hill in 1940 shortly before he registered for the draft. He does not appear on the 1940 census in Cutcher's household. He may be the same person as the George C. Barrymore who married Madge Ruth Weaver on January 27, 1935 in Anderson County, Texas. That marriage was short-lived because she was living with her parents again by 1940. I have been unable to find George on any census record from 1910 through 1940.
