ARNOLD, MD. - Doris E. Austin, 94, died on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at her daughter's home in Arnold, Md.
She previously lived in Edgewater, Md. after living in Colchester for the last 29 years.
She was born in Hyde Park on April 24, 1916, the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Bertha M. Bartlett.
She graduated from Peoples Academy in Morrisville and owned Doris' Beauty Shop on Church Street of Burlington from 1943-1952.
She was married in 1952 to the late Robert G. Austin and is survived by her daughter, Diane L. (Niki) Kraus and husband, Frank, of Arnold, Md.; son, Jack M. LaVelle and wife, Lenor, of Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Roger Kraus, Michelle Flanagan, and David Kraus. She so enjoyed her great-grandchildren, Anna, Ryan, David, Jr., Lindsey, Ethan, Lainey, and Asher. She was also very close to a niece, Pamela Richter, and husband, Don.
Her sister, Isabelle Bartlett, predeceased her in 1999.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Center Cemetery, Hyde Park.
