Bonnie was married twice. Her first marriage was to Charlie Benjamin Sturn (1909-1996), they were married on 29 Mar 1928 prob. in Jefferson Co., NE; they were divorced in about 1938, possibly in, Republic Co., KS. The time that they were actually together was very short lived, Bonnie and her "to-be" future husband Jim Abel had been together for a number of years before Bonnie and Charlie actually divorced. It is purported that they got along well enough after they divorce; Charlie is even reported to have attended Bonnie funeral.
