At 10:40 on Thursday night occurred the death of Mrs. Charles L. Barden at her home, 325 W. Bloomfield Street. She had been in poor health for the past four years. Her son, Carroll L. Barden, died four years ago this month and thereafter her health became broken and, in spite of the best of medical attendance, she gradually failed. For some time past she had suffered from heart trouble and that was the immediate cause of her death.
Mrs. Barden's maiden name was Antoinette R. Barton, daughter of the late Robert and Jane Barton. She was born in Glenmore, town of Annsville, 63 years ago. In 1884 she was married to Mr. Barden. About 34 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Barden moved to this city, which has since been their home.
Mrs. Barden was a woman of very pleasing disposition and made friends of all who came in contact with her. She was a devoted wife, a kind neighbor and a true friend and her death though not unexpected, will carry sincere grief to all who knew her. She was a member of the First M. E. Church of this city.
Besides her husband she is survived by two brothers, George Barton of Taberg and John of Rome.
