A long and useful life of blessing and service for those she loved closed with the passing of Mrs. Barnes. Her friends and the circle of her friendships included all who knew her, will miss her sadly.

Since the death of her husband, she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Hanks, where loving hands had ministered to her every need. After only four days of illness on Thursday evening, she peacefully entered into rest.

The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church on Sunday, conducted by the pastor Rev. W. A. Alcorn after which the body was laid away by the side of her husband, who preceded her to the other shore.

Hanna R. Bates was born in Heram, Ohio, April 17, 1822 and died February 29, 1913, age 90 years, 10 months and 3 days.
