Jessie Mae Batson, 93, of Fairmont, passed away Thursday (April 10, 2008) at her residence.

She was born Jan. 31, 1915, at States Fork, Metz, a daughter of the late Sidney Jones and Minnie Fetty Santee.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James Ronald and Joyce Batson of Fayetteville, N.C.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and William Williamson of Fairmont, Sandra and Calvin Hulsey of Worthington, Sharon and Melvin Wright of Mannington; 12 grandchildren, Ronald Aubrey and Randy Batson, Renae Smith, Rodney and Todd Hulsey, Misti Fisher, Brian and Chris Wright, Midgie Goad, Tim, Carl and Dennis Williamson; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Florence Stewart of Blairsville, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Batson, who died on Feb. 13, 2005.

Mrs., Batson was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington. She enjoyed reading and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved very much.

Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, from 2-8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank Hospice Care for the special care given to Mrs. Batson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Care Corp.
