HOMOGENIA "HOMIE" CANNON BATTEN BARCO, Mrs., age 75, wife of ALBERT LEE BARCO SR, of 317 26th Street, Virginia Beach, died Tuesday, February 3, 1953 at 4:25 a.m, at a Virginia Beach hospital after an illness of several months.

A lifelong resident of Virginia Beach and Princess Anne County, she was a daughter of JOSEPH FRANCIS BATTEN and Mrs. ELLA CANNON BATTEN. She was a charter member of Virginia Beach Chapter No 75, Order of the Eastern Star, a charter member of American Legion Auxiliary No 113 and a member of Galilee Episcopal Church.

Surviving besides her husband are 2 sons, MILTON O. BARCO and ALBERT LEE BARCO JR, both of Virginia Beach; 2 daughters, Mrs. J.C. PARHAM JR of Vienna and Mrs. R.W. WHITEHURST of Virginia Beach; a brother, GILMER BATTEN of Winston-Salem, NC; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The body was removed to the Maestas Funeral Home, Virginia Beach. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 5, 1953 at 2 pm at Galilee Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev EDMUND BERKELEY, rector. The body will be at the church one hour before the services. Burial will be in the new Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were A.L. BARCO III, R.W. WHITEHURST, D.M. WHITEHURST, CHARLES E. BARCO JR, J.C. PARHAM III, R.B. BARCO, P. ATWOOD and E.H. ATWOOD. Honorary pallbearers were the Vestrymen of Galilee Church.
